snow

All this recent snow reminded me of last year when it snowed and I braved the chill to take some pictures...

starting afresh

It's just been christmas and everyone is mumbling something about 'cutting down' and 'holding back' on the sugary and fatty foods, but I have found a clever solution of getting past the NO CUPCAKE rule ... eat low-cal cupcakes of course! Obviously, if you are really good and have amazing self-control then you will be steering clear of cupcakes: low-cal or not, but i find that a small cake sometime around tea-time really raises the spirit and keep me going through the skinny, diet-ridden, winter months. And, at only 183 calories a cake (normal cupcakes around the 400 cal mark) i think i have found a solution to my sugary cravings. Roll up the camomile and courgette cupcakes! Now, before you run away in terror at the disgusting-sounding name/ingredients, let me explain to you the these skinny little cakes are in no way disgusting - in fact they are extremely delicious! The taste of these cakes is really nice; sweet, cakey and amazingly normal (no weird after-taste here) and there isn't the slightest hint of vegetable in sight. Camomile is proven to have calming properties so if you're stressing about a diet then these are the cakes for you. I got the recipe from 'Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache' by Harry Eastwood (who is actually a girl) which is full of inspirational and 'good' cakes and treats, not to mention beautiful pictures.

Also, these beautiful vintage shoes were purchased by my mum and are so lovely and in such good condition for (I'm guessing) 60's shoes. She got them for around £10 in a charity shop and even though they are half a size too big for me, I adore them!
